Wombat Berry (Eustrephus latifolius)

Form:
Scrambler/vine with stems to several metres or more.

Needs:
Likes part-shade but will tolerate more sun.

Features:
Small star-shaped flowers in spring, followed by orange berries which open to show black seeds.
Eocology:
From rainforest margins and sclerophyll forest.
Provides habitat and food for birds.

Notes:
Berries are said to be edible but not worth eating – so not toxic, however please research this if you intend to try them.
Quite fast-growing but not so vigourous that it will take over or need constant pruning.
